After 20 years of research, the National Coffee Research Center (Cenicafé) developed a new variety of coffee plant that features a plant of short stature, high productivity and high adaptability to Colombia’s coffee regions. This variety is resistant to rust fungus and Coffee Berry Disease (CBD). The Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (FNC) released a new variety, CENICAFE 1.
Romos Ground Medium Roast coffee Cenicafe variety came from the El Guadual farm located in Chinavita - Boyacá in the central Andean area of Colombia at an altitude between 4900 and 5000 feet above sea level.
This Cenicafe coffee has cocoa, honey, caramel and hazelnut notes. Our process is artisanal using traditional methods, always by picking the coffee cherries by hand. Due to natural resistance, there are no pesticides used; therefore, this is an organic product.
